The First 90 Days as a CFO

The first 90 days in a CFO-level role are not about proving intelligence.
They are about stabilizing authority.
Too many newly appointed CFOs:
• Over-explain.
• Over-collaborate.
• Delay decisive positioning.
• Attempt to be liked before being anchored.
Institutional authority does not come from popularity.
It comes from clarity under pressure.
The room is not asking:
"Are you smart?"
They already know you are.
The room is asking:
"Can you hold tension without flinching?"
That is the real threshold.
And most preparation for CFO roles ignores it completely.
